FAQ: MoLock

Q: What is MoLock?

MoLock is a attachment lock.
It is used to lock a prim attachment to your avatar.
You will find all Help about MoLock here.

MoLock works as a classic lock, triggering a IM to notice the Keyholder about the detaching and reattaching of the lock, as well as it keeps statistics about violations.

MoLock also is RestrainedLife viewer compatible, locking items undetachable, if the RestrainedLife viewer is used.

You can set the MoLock to Classic mode or RLv mode.
If you don't use the RestrainedLife viewer, it is recommended to use it only in Classic mode.

It is possible to add plugins in MoLock equipped items to add more features to the Lock or the MoLock equipped item.

MoLock is available in different versions:

• The Basic Version represents a simple Lock.
  Keyholer is always the one that locked the Lock.
• The Full Version has a keyholder concept included.
  It is also possible to set a Dominant that is Master-Keyholder
  The Dominant can configure Second Owners that are Master-Keyholders as well.

Q: How to set a Dominant (owner)
(This feature is only available with MoLock or MoLock light v1.50 or higher.)

You can submit to the Keyholder,

• if a Keyholder is set and
• you are not Keyholder yourself and
• you have not already a Dominant (owner).

If you submit, your Keyholder becomes your Dominant (owner).
The Dominant has special abilities:
The Dominant can

• always and at any time gain the Key at any time.
• add Second Owners (full version v1.50 or higher only)

Brief Instruction:

1. Wear your MoLock equipped attachment.
2. Let the one that shall become Dominant (owner) touch the attachment.
3. Let the one that shall become Dominant take the Key.
4. Touch the attachment yourself.
5. Klick MoLock -> Submit

There is an alternative way:

1. Wear your MoLock equipped attachment.
2. Touch it and choose Take Key from the MoLock dialog
3. Use the Give Key option to give the key to the one that shall become Dominant (e.g. when the one is not present or online).
4. Klick the Submit button.

Q: I get the message 'Wrong Attachment Point' every time I log in
Most probably you changed the attachment point while MoLock was locked. To get rid of the message there are 2 options:

1. use the original attachment point the attachment was locked to
2. or unlock and lock the attachment.

Q: Can I hide the MoLock dialog?
You can hide the MoLock dialog if you use MoLock in Discreet mode.
Only your registered Dominant can change the Discreet mode.
This is very handy if you use MoLock in a attachment that comes with their own dialog or if the dialog woud but disturb if it pops up when anybody touches the attachment.

To activate Discreet mode:

1. Be the Dominant (owner) (see above)
2. Touch the attachment
3. Take the Key
4. Change the mode to 'Discreet'
   MoLock -> Settings -> Discreet

If you need to access MoLock, touch the attachment for more then 2 secods or use a command plugin.


Q: I cannot access the dialog any more
Maybe you set the MoLock to Descreet mode.
(only the registered Dominant (owner) can change this setting)

1. Be the Dominant (owner) (see above)
2. Touch the attachment for more then 2 seconds
3. Take the Key
4. Change the mode to 'Direct'
   MoLock -> Settings -> Direct

Q: How can I get the key / How do I reset the lock?
If you need to reset the lock or if you need the keys back for your Dominant ran away from you, please do the following:

1. Launch a classic viewer (no Restrained Life viewer)
2. Wear your attachment (if not already worn)
3. Touch it
4. Go to MoLock menu (if not already active)
5. Click Reset / in later versions you find the Reset button in the Settings menu.

[When you want to reset your collar, please make sure you reset the HUD, not the collar itself]
