Tutorial: Control Chat

This dialog gives you the ability to control chat options in very detail. All settings and their status will be displayed in the dialog box.

The Control Chat Dialog

There is a main switch to activate or deactivate the settings defined in this dialog.  That way you can apply or release your preferred set of restrictions very quickly.

Ctrl. Chat

This Button is to toggle between chat restrictions:
  • not restricted
  • no shout (its only possible to speak normal or whisper)
  • whisper only
  • denied (no chat possible at all)
The Proximity button below Ctrl. Chat controls the proximity modes about this restriction. To learn more about proximity modes, please refer the tutorial about proximity settings.

The second button below Ctrl. Chat, Emote, is to limit the ability to emote. These options are only active when chat is denied. You can
  • allow emotes
  • truncate emotes, or
  • deny emotes completely

Ctrl. Listen

The second column shows the settings for restricting abilities to listen to:
  • not restricted
  • limit ability to only hear people as close as 10 meters
  • limit ability to only hear people as close as 5 meters
  • deny listen completely
You also have options for proximity settings and about the abilities to read emotes of others.
In addition, you have the option to activate exceptions. This means, that the sub can hear the chat of special people, even when their ability to read open chat is denied. To toggle between the exception settings, press the Exceptions button. Options are:
  • no exceptions
  • listen to Owners allowed
  • listen to Owners and Friends allowed
"Friends" are people listed in the Friends-List of the script. More about that, later.

 Hide Names

The last option on the first page is the option to hide names. When active, all names in chat will be camouflaged with random expressions, like "a person". You also can apply proximity rules to this setting.

Restrict Chat Channels

With this option you can limit the number of chat channels that can be used. Chat channels are chat messaged that start with an / followed by a number. They are also used by dialog boxes.
If you restrict chat channels, you will very likely render other products malfunctioning, so use this feature with care and only when you know what you are doing.

Secure Mode

The secure mode is a strict rule about how to handle exceptions (like described above). When active, only exceptions are accepted, that are issued by this product. If you use this, you as well are very likely to render other products malfunctioning. So, handle with care.

Friends

With this menu, you can add or remove people to the friends list, that can be applied as exception to restrictions.

Blacklist

People that are added to the blacklist are prevented to communicate with the person wearing this product. They will not be able to use instant messages with each other. The people on the blacklist will also be ignored in open chat. Use this to deny contact.

Tutorial: RLV-Control by Proximity

Many MoDesign Total Submission control options feature the option to activate them on proximity.
This means, you can decide when these options are active. There are hundreds of possibilities when this can be useful. This tutorial explains how it works by following an easy example.

Deny TP on Proximity

Assume, you want your sub not to TP away when close to you (or other people, even). That way the sub needs to leave by leaving first, before its possible to TP again. This is easy to achieve. Just enter the Control TP dialog, set it to deny TP, and then toggle the Proximity button below the TP button to set up the proximity mode. Al settings will be shown in the dialog text, immediately.
This video shows the 4 easy steps how to do that (best viewed in full screen mode):

  1. Open Ctrl. TP
  2. Choose Deny TP
  3. Setup Proximity Setting
  4. Activate the Plugin

Inverse Proximity

But what happens, if you activate the Proximity settings while the setting itself is unrestricted?
In that case, the subject will be unrestricted while in proximity of Owners or people. As soon as they are no longer under proximity, the "worst" restriction applies. Usually this is the "deny" setting.
In the TP example, if you set up TP allowed while close to Owners, the subject will only be able to TP, while one of the Owners is close. Sounds odd? Well, if the sub teleports to some place where there is no owner, it will render the subject stranded there.

Tutorial: Control Chat

This plugin gives you the ability to control chat options of your pet in very detail. All settings and their status will be displayed in the dialog box.

Newer releases may offer the option to activate settings on proximity. Please refer this extra tutorial about Control by Proximity to learn all about that.

Low lag design.

Exception: Allow Emote / Trunc Emote / Deny Emote
This is an Exception to the open Chat restriction.
Emotes are commands beginning with a slash ('/'), like '/me':
  • If emotes are allowed, there is no restriction about the length of the emote.
  • If emotes are truncated, they will be truncated by the viewer to a number approx. between 15 and 30 characters.
  • If emotes are denied, the wearer will not be able to emote at all
Note: In any case: Messages with special signs like ()"-*=_^ are prohibited,
they will be discarded. When a period is present, the rest of the message is discarded.
Note: When speaking is allowed, emotes will not be restricted

Speak Mode
Use this to toggle between the 3 Modes:
  1. Normal: Shouting is allowed as well as normal speaking
  2. No Shouting: The wearer will not be able to shout
  3. Only Whisper: The wearer is forced to whisper when speaking in open chat

This option is only available to the owner.

Using MoLock, the owner is the Dominant the sub submitted to.

Exceptions only apply if listening is denied. You cannot deny listening only to people in exception lists.

Exception Second Owners
Ths is like the Exceptions Option, but for the Second Owners.
Using MoLock, the Keyholder will be treated as Second Owner.

Exceptions only apply if listening is denied. You cannot deny listening only to people in exception lists.

Show Names / Hide Names
This is to control if names in chat and above the avatars are show as usual or to hide them.
If you hide them, your pet will not know the names of people talking in chat and walking along.
