MoDesign Easy-Update

Updating your MoDesign product is really easy.


Every time you update, please make sure and keep in mind:

* That you are not in busy mode
* That you are not muting Mo Noel
* That your item is not RLv locked
* Custom settings might get lost during update
* Do not reset the update scripts that are installed in no modify items
* If the update fails, there will be no refund possible
* You accept the MoDesign Update Policy when you trigger an update

Hints:

• No Modify Items come with their own Update Plugin
  - Rez them on the Update Table and use the installed Update plugin
• Almost all other products are compatible with MoDesign Easy Update.
  - if you own a very old product, you might be able to update that by adding an update script, given by the update server.
  

How to use MoDesign Easy-Update:

Premise:

1. Go to the Updater at the MoDesign main shop
2. Wear your attachment
   or rez it on the update table.
3. Make sure the attachment is not locked.
   To update a RLv locked item might spoil your product!
4. Make sure you own the key.
   - If not, take the key.

Standard Update Procedure:

1. Touch the updater in the shop
   → You will get a folder including:
   - an Update Orb
   - an update script
2. Rez the Update Orb somewhere near
   - always use the latest Update Orb available
   - please keep in mind that the orb might be returned by autoreturn.
3. Touch the Update Orb
   → You get a list of update able items.
   - If the product you are looking for is not shown, try to Refresh
4. Choose the item you want to update from the list presented.
   → The update will begin

Update if your item is not listed by the Update Orb:

1. Check if your item is unlocked and try again.
   - Or: Try again by pressing Refresh after touching the Update Orb
2. Try to update the old way:
   - Rez your item next to the Updater
   - Touch your item
   - Go to Plugins → Extras → Update (or Plugins → Update)
3. If no update plugin is available or the update plugin is not working:
   - Take the update script given by the server
   - Drag it onto your item
   - Touch the Update Orb again and follow the standard update procedure
4. If you cannot install the update script
   → Your item is not updateable

Items you can wear during update:(update with the standard update procedure)

• Total Submission items
  (like rings or implants)
• Items you added MoDesign scripts yourself
  - e.g. Amethyst Collar with MoDesign Complete set installed
• Bane helmets
• Implants
• Remote
• Items with MoRemote Plugin installed
  (you need to install the update plugin first)

Items you need to rez to update properly:(update with the installed update plugin)

• Chastity devices
• MoMemento (only if easy update does not work)
• Renamer & Titler (only if easy update does not work)
• Blindfold (only if easy update does not work, the Basic version is not updateable)
• The Barrel
• Dresses (Budget versions are not updateable)
• Leash Holder

Update Troubleshooting

Q: I cannot update my item - it says it is manipulated
A: Try the latest standard update procedure instead of using the installed Update-Plugin.
If your product is no modify, please IM Mo Noel.

Q: My item does not have a Plugin menu
A: Try the latest standard update procedure.

Q: MoLock and other Plugins have lost their settings
A: With an update, the settings might get lost.
With MoLock you may want to use the SyncOwner feature to sync the owners of all MoDesign locks.

Q: My MoToys in my Amethyst Collar seem no longer to work propperly
A: Make sure there is no MoLock -Main- script and no LockInPlace plugin in your collar. These scripts are no longer needed in a Amethyst collar.

Q: Where do I get the latest product notecards for my updated plugins
A: Your notecards got updated with your update as well.
Make sure when you install my plugin sets elsewhere, that you install the notecards as well.

Update Policy:

MoDesign products may get updated from time to time to improve them further. Though many of the MoDesign products offer an update plugin, you may not claim for an update. Updates are not guaranteed. There is no right for an update. Even if your product is equipped with an update plugin there is no guarantee that there will be updates or that this plugin will work.

Products that are modify might refuse am update for various reasons, especially if you have modified the contents of the product. You may try the new standard update procedure: Easy Update.

If you update your product, you do that on your own risk.
Please be aware that an update process may fail due to various reasons.
There will be no refund for failed updates.

Please keep in mind, that with an update your custom settings might get lost and you might need to setup your item anew.

If you are happy with your product, you might not need to update.
