This dialog gives you the ability to control chat options in
very detail. All settings and their status will be displayed in the
dialog box.
The Control Chat Dialog
There is a main switch to activate or deactivate the settings defined in this dialog. That way you can apply or release your preferred set of restrictions very quickly.
Ctrl. Chat
This Button is to toggle between chat restrictions:
- not restricted
- no shout (its only possible to speak normal or whisper)
- whisper only
- denied (no chat possible at all)
The Proximity button below Ctrl. Chat controls the proximity modes about this restriction. To learn more about proximity modes, please refer the tutorial about proximity settings.
The second button below Ctrl. Chat, Emote, is to limit the ability to emote. These options are only active when chat is denied. You can
- allow emotes
- truncate emotes, or
- deny emotes completely
Ctrl. Listen
The second column shows the settings for restricting abilities to listen to:
- not restricted
- limit ability to only hear people as close as 10 meters
- limit ability to only hear people as close as 5 meters
- deny listen completely
You also have options for proximity settings and about the abilities to read emotes of others.
In addition, you have the option to activate exceptions. This means, that the sub can hear the chat of special people, even when their ability to read open chat is denied. To toggle between the exception settings, press the Exceptions button. Options are:
- no exceptions
- listen to Owners allowed
- listen to Owners and Friends allowed
"Friends" are people listed in the Friends-List of the script. More about that, later.
Hide Names
The last option on the first page is the option to hide names. When active, all names in chat will be camouflaged with random expressions, like "a person". You also can apply proximity rules to this setting.
Restrict Chat Channels
With this option you can limit the number of chat channels that can be used. Chat channels are chat messaged that start with an / followed by a number. They are also used by dialog boxes.
If you restrict chat channels, you will very likely render other products malfunctioning, so use this feature with care and only when you know what you are doing.
Secure Mode
The secure mode is a strict rule about how to handle exceptions (like described above). When active, only exceptions are accepted, that are issued by this product. If you use this, you as well are very likely to render other products malfunctioning. So, handle with care.
Friends
With this menu, you can add or remove people to the friends list, that can be applied as exception to restrictions.
Blacklist
People that are added to the blacklist are prevented to communicate with the person wearing this product. They will not be able to use instant messages with each other. The people on the blacklist will also be ignored in open chat. Use this to deny contact.
