Tutorial: First Steps

Eine deutsche Version ist hier zu finden

Thank you for using MoDesign products.
If this is your first time, please take some minutes to get to know the basic features of your new product.

⤷ First Steps ⤶
As with any new product, it is highly recommended to take some time and take it slowly and relaxed to get to know your new product.

All MoDesign products work similarly and are designed to be easy and reliable to use. Yet they are also very powerful, so watch your step, when you operate advanced options.

When you first attach your new product, the first thing you want to do is to set up who will be able to control your device.

⤷ Key Holder ⤶
A Keyholder is a person that holds a virtual key to your device. It is only data in the menus, no "real" key, that rezes. Keyholders have access to a wide range of options of MoDesign products. If a submissive is not owned or has no partner that is the Dominant, the item will always be operated by a Keyholder.

To get the Key:
- touch the item
- go to: MoLock → Take Key

Now you can operate most features of your product. Be careful about the option to "Give Key" to someone else.

⤷ Dominant ⤶
The Dominant is the person with exclusive access to the item. Once set, the submissive will not be able to operate certain settings of the item. The Dominant can also always take the key and thus revoke the key from any Keyholder. It is recommended, that the Dominant will always be Keyholder, unless the submissive is "rented out".

To make the present Keyholder to your Dominant:
- these steps are are to be done by the submissive
- go to MoLock → Owners → Submit

To set a Dominant that is not yet Keyholder:
- these steps are are to be done by the submissive
- make sure you are Keyholder (see above)
- go to MoLock → Owners

If your Dominant is next to you:
- press Scan
- choose your Dominant from the list

If your Dominant is away or offline:
- enter login-name of the Dominant on chat-channel /100
- e.g: /100 Mo Noel

If this is successful, you will be locked out by the dialog. Your Dominant can now add more Owners with the same procedure.

⤷ Sync Owners ⤶
This option is recommended, for D/s relations, where you will use more then one MoDesign product and where you may have more Owners then but one.

If you have more then one MoDesign product, and you don't want to set up Dominants individual on every product, you can Sync Owners. Owners will be synced between all of your MoDesign products that have the same Dominant set, or have not yet a Dominant set.

To activate the sync-mode:
- go to MoLock → Owners
- press Sync

If you already have a Dominant set up, this option is only available to your Dominant.
If you have no Dominant set up, but you wear a item with a set up Dominant and you have sync mode active on that other item, the owners will be copied to this item.

⤷ Advanced Options ⤶
Be careful when you use advanced options.

- RLV Mode: when off, RLV will not be used
- Autolock: locks the item on attach
- LockInPlace: renders a locked item with no edit permissions
- Messages: private or public messages when operating the product
- Menu Mode: when restricted, only Keyholder, Owners and submissive can
touch the product to get a dialog
- Menu Distance: when set, people need to be close to touch the product
- Access: allow/deny public access to the restraint
- Kidnap: allow/deny access by one kidnapper (Kidnap-Keys-product is
   needed)
- Weld: see next section
- Reset: see section after next section

⤷ Weld ⤶
Welding means, you render the lock shut, it cannot be unlocked again. Though, this is quite attractive for some roleplay scenarios, it has some other effects, you might consider.

- a locked item or a welded item cannot be updated.
- you cannot change your Dominant
- access to Reset is denied

⤷ Reset ⤶
If the reset-Option ist not available in MoLock → Advanced, you need to turn off RLV or log with a none-RLV viewer. After that, you can reset the Owners.

⤷ Time-Lock / Self-Bondage ⤶
If your item has a time-lock, you can set up an RL and an SL timer. This timer can be used to unlock the complete restraint. The submissive will be Keyholder, once the time is up. You can determine, if both timers need to count down to unlock the lock, or if the first timer that finishes will unlock the restraint. You can hide the timer from the submissive, so the submissive can not see how much time is left.

- Manual Mode: the lock will not be released automatic, but the submissive will have to enter the Timelock
dialog to check if the time is up.

⤷ ⌘ Apps ⤶
All scripts that provide specific scripted features for your MoDesign product are called "Apps".

If you wear a MoDesign Gag, it will have a "Gag" app, to control the gag. It might also be possible to have more then one App installed in a MoDesign product. For example, you can add a Speech Control app (and many more) as an extra option to the gag.

You will find all Apps in the ⌘ Apps dialog of your product. Usually, this will be the dialog that pops up, when you get access to the product.

⤷ MoDesign Remote ⤶
Almost all MoDesign products can be remote controlled. For gridwide access, the Dominant and the submissive need to wear a MoDesign HUD, that comes with the Remote app. Furthermore, the Dominant needs to link the own remote to the remote of the submissive partner.

With the remote set up, Dominants can remote control all their submissives with a touch to their HUD and operate their MoDesign products just the same way as they would stand right next to each other. There are also plugins available to remote control RealRestraint cuffs, made by Marine Kelley.

The Remote HUD might even offer more enhancements for other MoDesign products. For example it can hook on the camera stream of a submissive, wearing a MoDesign Surveillance product. It is also used to render a MoDesign leash grid wide, so when a Dominant teleports, a leashed submissive will teleport with them right away.

As you can see, the MoDesign remote offers quite a deal of great extra options, and you are encouraged to consider that investment.

⤷ Chat-Commands ⤶
/11 <prefix> <command>

MoDesign products allow access by chat commands.
- commands are issued on channel /11
- commands have a prefix
-- prefix is the first 2 letters of the login name
-- prefix can be a wildcard: "*" (that is <asterisk>)
-- after the prefix there can be a space
-- after the wildcard-prefix there must be a space
- all items support the <command> "menu"
- most apps support their app-name in lower case as <command>
- all apps support their case sensitive app-name as <command>
- only the Dominant, Second-Owners, Keyholder and the submissive can
   use chat-commands

Example:
Name: Mo, login-name: Mo Noel
/11 mo menu
/11 momenu
/11 * menu
the last one is not recommended, as it might flood you with dialogs and the viewer will throttle them. Use the wildcard only for direct commands, that are supported by the app.
e.g.: /11 * leash or /11 * unleash to leash or unleash all of your subs at the same moment.
