Mo Noel made first attempts to compile a restrained viewer in March 2007.
She first was online at 2007-03-18 with a viewer preventing to cheat HUDs.
Mo Noel was in touch with Marine Kelley and stopped her attempts because of her lack of software engineering knowledge and the very high frequency of new viewer versions.
Marine Kelley released her first Restrained Life viewer in November 2007.

The RLv is open source, maintained by Marine Kelley.
The Windows version is provided by Marine as well (.exe only)
The Mac version is provided by Mo Noel.
The Linux version is provided by Loom Kish.
Some other well known patchers also add the RLv patch to their releases.
